Diabetes, a chronic metabolite disorder which affect the millions of individual worldwide and has emerged as a significant global health concern. With the rising prevalence of this disorder, there is an urgent need for the effective and sustainable management strategies. Conventional medicines are used for the treatment of diabetes but the use of herbal approaches for the treatment of diabetes has gained considerable attention in recent years.

The book chapter aims to explore the potentiality of herbal remedies in the management of diabetes. It delivers the fruitful knowledge about the history of traditional medicine, which has long relied on plant-based therapies to address various ailments. By focusing on the specific herbs that have shown promises in treating diabetes, this chapter provides comprehensive understanding of potential benefits of plant in the treatment of diabetes.

The chapter begins with a brief discussion about the history, pathophysiology and the types of diabetes along with the mechanism of action that how the blood glucose level rises in the body, what factor is responsible for that, after understanding this process in detail, readers can appreciate how herbal remedies target specific aspects of diabetic management.

Furthermore, this book also explores the wide range of herbs and their phytoconstituents that is responsible for their antidiabetic properties. Some examples of plant which shows antidiabetic activity is explained in detail.
