Abstract

Diabetes has been known for many centuries and the variations in the severity of diabetes are also known. Clear distinctions between 2 types of diabete are emerged in the 20th century. The first attempt was made by the World Health Organization Expert Committee on Diabetes Mellitus classification, which classifies diabetes as juvenile-onset diabetes and mature-onset diabetes. (WHO. Geneva, 1980) [1].
