Abstract

Present study was conducted to provide a better forecast for yield of early maturing pigeonpea grown in central zone of India, by using Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average, Exponential smoothing and Neural network (NN) model. The developed model performance were assessed with the help of different selection measure criteria and the model having minimum value of thesecriteria considered as the best forecasting model. Based on findings, neural network was found to be more suitable for predicting pigeonpea yield as compared to two other models.
