Recent years have seen an enormous interest among the researchers in the production of activated carbon by using different precursors. In this book, special attention was paid to the latest research findings about the applications and the properties of activated carbon. The obtained activated carbon showed higher surface area and porosity to remove heavy metal, dye compounds, undesired pollutants, unpleasant odor and taste. Several types of activated carbon such as granular, powdered and pellet forms could be used in medicine, gases and water purification. This book is recommended for engineer, chemist, material scientist and postgraduate students.
