This monograph is the first of its kind, presenting a systematic exploration of the original theory of turbulent premixed flames based on a Kolmogorov-type hypothesis-driven approach and a combustion model for turbulent premixed and partially premixed flames, the foundation of which is this theory. The hypothesis-driven approach is, in a certain sense, an alternative to the most commonly used first-principles approach to turbulent combustion, employing instantaneous combustion and hydrodynamics equations to formulate the moment or PDF equations for coupled modeling of combustion and hydrodynamics.
