The modern period of development is characterized by changes in all spheres as social, economic, political and cultural. These changes put forward new requirements for higher education and professional training of future specialists to adapt to multicultural, multilingual environment for realization of personal and professional needs. The increasing dominance of English in higher education and research over the last few decades is a cumulative process resulting in academic communication worldwide. Universities in Kazakhstan deliver programs (online-seminars, webinars, evening clubs, and watching films) to learn English or materials to improve student language proficiency (papers, publications, guides, and books). In modern time all educational institutions must be suited people’s wants, society, and government. Also they are to promote individual’s integration into national and world culture. Language is not the only component of ethnos spiritual culture; also it is a condition of culture development, translator of cultural values from generation to generation.

This book provides a new perspective on the teaching and learning English for students of non-linguistic departments. It contains 2 chapters - Functioning of languages in educational process of Kazakhstan and Active methods in teaching and learning languages.
