This book reproduces most part of my Doctoral Thesis on “Occupational Stress, Social Relationships at the Workplace, Psychological Wellbeing and Coping Strategies of Nurses and Midwives in the Catholic Health Service of the Western Region of Ghana” submitted to Texila American University, Guyana as partial fulfillment for the award of Doctor of Philosophy in Counselling Psychology. Some parts of this book have already been published as research articles in some international journals. There is however the need to bring the entire study into one volume as a book. This informed the decision to publish this book on my doctoral thesis.

The study investigated occupational stress, social relationships at the workplace, psychological wellbeing and coping strategies of nurses and midwives in the Catholic Health Service of the Western Region of Ghana. The study’s results are interesting and contribute greatly to the literature on occupational stress, social relationships at the workplace, psychological wellbeing and coping strategies among especial healthcare workers. It is the fervent hope of the author that this study will help improve human lives tremendously and help improve the body of knowledge on occupational stress and psychological wellbeing.
