Abstract

This book dealt with municipal solid-waste management. This book is timely in bringing together the municipal solid waste compositions and characterization, their collection, transportation and treatment procedures to achieve sustainable waste management. The management of solid waste remains a challenge in a great number of countries around the world. Thus, these practices include open dumps that are improperly controlled and unlawful roadside dumping, have the potential to degrade scenic qualities, damage soil and water resources, and create possible health problems for those who are exposed to them.
