Parasitic diseases have been a public health problem to mankind. Soil Transmitted nematodes are part of the parasitic disease that continue to cause high morbidity and sufferings globally. They are common in low and middle-income countries such as Kenya. Mass deworming has been advocated by World Health Organisation (WHO) but still these parasitic infections have persisted despite the effort. Antihelminthic drugs have been used over time and the need to assess their effectiveness is crucial.
This book highlight the findings of a study of prevalence, intensity and effectiveness of albendazole in Kakamega county, Kenya. The book produces details on soil transmitted nematodes found in the study area, diagnosis, pre- treatment and post- treatment analysis.
