Abstract

This presented research has developed in Curitiba, Brazil at Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná – PUCPR and has organized two activities: an exhibition on agrobiodiversity and a MOOC course on Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) that had the theme COVID19 as its final exercise, both organized by the research group Practice on Teaching and Learning with Educational Technologies — PRAPETEC. This group had a partnership, in the first activity, with Engage Project that implements practices of RRI, equipping the next generation to participate in scientific issues to change how science is taught. PRAPECTEC has a current project financed by National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPQ – Brazil), and both activities involve RRI practices. In this context, a question that gave rise to this investigation was as follows: How to explore issues related to agrobiodiversity and COVID 19, in order to promote RRI? The objective of this study was to promote two RRI practices, one on agrobiodiversity and one on COVID in a MOOC, in order to disseminate questions directed to this issue, through the Facebook social network. These practices have national and international repercussions, with a range of participation from a diverse audience, involving teachers, students and in general the community from Brazil and other countries. The results show that there is still much to learn about RRI practice. We conclude that the exhibition on Agrobiodiversity, the first activity of RRI practice, which involved the issue of genetically modified products, may represent a more conscious and collaborative process of teaching and learning, allowing the inclusion of various actors and promoting a link between society and science.
