Abstract

Vaccine interference [VI] is the modulation of vaccine response that result from the concurrent or sequential administration of several distinct vaccines.VI is important in the development of combined vaccines. The current opinion chapter was aiming at un-covering the nature of VI and tracing the immune mechanisms operable in VI. Vaccine interference may be of innate, immune cross-roads and adaptive nature. The innate type associated with reduction of inflammation. The immune cross-roads liked with reduction in antigen presentation due to blocked in CD40/CD40L interaction. While the adaptive type can be in association with; reduction in B cell pool, modulation in T cell responses,TH1,TH2,T reg. imbalance and/or cytokine action. The outmost important applications of VI are; selective augmentation of vaccine induced immune responses, reduction of inflammation and protection against heterologous pathogens.
