Based on materials pertaining to Oriental studies, this work sheds light on identity recognition in the context of Orientalism in the postmodern era. The Western society has been significantly impacted by globalisation, particularly the long-standing culture of self-centeredness. In terms of mental models, postmodern orientalism differs significantly from ontology and epistemology in Western civilization. An improved and more thorough understanding of the concept of the world process is made possible by studying Orientalism in the context of postmodernism.
