Abstract
The pilot’s micro sleep frequently caused by fatigue or drowsiness obtains collective note mark recently, particularly the reason being pilot’s micro sleep after it has been revealed by accident investigation.
The complete system is embedded with EOG, EEG and IR module. By using intrusive electrodes, EEG tests the electrical activity of the brain known as brain wave pattern. The EOG module records the electrical potential of eyeball movements, while the IR module detects the frequency of eye blinks. The complete impulses are given to a robust signal processing unit and microcontroller. When micro sleep events are detected, the warning system is activated. This proposed micro sleep alerting system would regularly monitor the vigilance and preparedness of the pilot and sends prompt warning signal, when micro sleep detected with high degree of certainty.
