ChatGPT, the Generative Pretrained Transformer developed by OpenAI, has the potential to revolutionize the field of cybersecurity through its ability to identify and fix software vulnerabilities with high accuracy and generate complex code, which can enhance productivity. This paper conducts a systematic literature review of the latest research on the use of ChatGPT in cybersecurity to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of the technology and its potential impact on the field. The literature review focuses on the benefits and drawbacks of using ChatGPT to identify and fix software vulnerabilities, its impact on productivity, and the expected changes in 2023 and beyond.
