Prof. John Yahya I. Elshimali

He is Professor of Pathology and Oncology at Charles Drew University and UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Pathology with subspecialty in Surgical Pathology, Molecular Genetics and Immunology. He has a special skills in diagnostic molecular medicine including liquid biopsy for cell fee DNA (CFDNA), circulating tumor cells (CTC), and analysis of NGS on Formalin Fixed Paraffin Embedded Tissue (FFPE). His research focuses on stem cells metabolism, Immune system, DNA Microarray/Tissue Micro Array for multiplex histological analysis, translational research, genetic biomarkers and drug discovery for breast, prostate, and ovarian cancers. He also serves as Team Leader Inspector for the College of American Pathologists (CAP), and he is a member of many professional societies including CAP, American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), American Society for Cancer Research (AACR), Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP), American Society for Human Genetics (ASHG), American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC) and American Association of Medical Review Officers (AAMRO). He serves in editorial boards for several medical and pharmaceutical journals and he is an international speaker with an impressive repertoire of publications in highly impact journals.
