Abstract

Chalcones are the important aromatic compounds in pharmacologically point of view. They are the precursors of several natural compound’s flavonoids, carotenoids and isoflavanoids. Many chalcone derivatives prove to be an important candidate for the discovery of new drugs. Several naturally occurring chalcones and synthetic compounds are known to possess various biological activities against infectious diseases. In this present chapter, we will be in sighting the recent development in various pharmacological activities of chalcones i.e., antibacterial, anticancer, antidiabetic, antioxidant, antifungal, antiviral and anti-HIV etc.
