Dr. Richard W. Sawadogo

He has received his PhD in Biochemistry and Phytochemistry from University of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso in 2006. He is holding various posts as associate professor at Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at University of Ouagadougou, senior research scientist at Institute for Health Science Research of Ouagadougou, Editor in Chief of “South Asian Journal of Natural Products”, Academic Editor of “International Research Journal of Pure and Applied Chemistry” and “Journal of Pharmaceutical Research International. The main topic of his research is the evaluation of biological properties of natural products as anticancer and anti-inflammatory drugs. He did his first postdoctoral position (2008-2009) at University of Paris-sud XI (Faculty of pharmacy) under the grant of “AUF”. From 2011 to 2013, he was a postdoctoral researcher at “Laboratoire de Biologie Moleculaire et Cellulaire du Cancer (LBMCC)” in Luxembourg under the grant of “FNR-Luxembourg” and “Marie-Curie Actions” of European Union. From 01/2019 to 10/2019, he was a visiting scholar of American Fulbright program at the University of Chicago, School of Medicine. He has published 40 papers in scientific international journal. He has got two Prizes in 2004, one from the President of Burkina Faso and the other from the Ministry of Health. From 2014 - 2015, he was the Director General sectoral studies and statistics at Ministry of scientific research and innovation, Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. From 2016-2020, he was the inspector general for the ministry of higher education, scientific research and innovation of Burkina Faso. He is currently the Technical advisor of the Minister of higher education, research and innovation at Burkina Faso.
