Abstract

The continuous development of the power system invites new issues along with power quality, the research importance of power quality is gradually increasing as huge development is going on the in the renewable energy integration in the modern power system, previously, different types of mitigating devices were used to solve the power quality issues but the role of different types of active power filter to solve specific types of power quality problem is highly appreciated in the literature. In this paper a rigorous analysis of different types of mitigating devices and the control methodology used for different types of power quality problem is presented, finally a hybrid active power filter is designed and some suggestions made to over the power quality issues. Beginner researchers working in this area can refer this paper as it discusses many aspects of power quality in power system.
