Study about Black Fungus: Clinical Manifestation and Treatment

Abstract

India is currently dealing with an outbreak of B.1.617 of the SARS-COVID-19 virus. Scientists think this variant might greatly weaken the body's immune system, thus making it more susceptible to fungal infections. Fungi are a diverse group of Eukaryotes that are both cosmopolitan and inconspicuous. However, suffering the repercussions of a hazardous or dangerous fungus is intolerable.  A specific issue in COVID-19 recovered patients is an infection called Black Fungus or Mucormycosis. Mucormycosis is a common infection that is both rare and deadly.  It is caused by fungal pathogens. Understanding the pathogenesis of these fungi, which are thought to be the causal agents of Mycosis, requires knowledge of their environmental niche. Educating patients about this disease and teaching them how to recognize the symptoms is crucial.
