Abstract

Cancer is a dreadful problem throughout the world. Treatments for this disease is costly and even possess side effects. Comorbidities usually result among the cancer patients. Recognizing novel approaches for therapy will alleviate comorbidities for curing this disease. Extensive scientific research shows that polyphenols like flavonoids present in a variety of edibles possess pharmacological potential. Flavonoids are found to be effective in controlling cell cycle arrest, apoptosis, oxidative stress, and inflammation and multi drug resistance along with some molecular pathways that ultimately prevent the progress of the disease. The current review is based on the study of flavonoids that may be an effective dietary strategy for cancer patients and can execute towards improving human health.
