Abstract

The purpose of this study was to perform the synthesis of the holmium-beta-cyclodextrin complex (Ho-\(\beta\)-CD). Cyclodextrins are used as water solubility enhancers. In order to accomplish this, Ho-\(\beta\)-CD complex was synthesized by evaporation method of holmium and beta cyclodextrin solutions in a proportion (1:1) and (1:3), respectively. The compound was identified using X-Ray Diffraction, Raman, and Infrared (IR) spectroscopy. Scanning electron microscopy was used to examine the morphology (SEM) of the Ho, \(\beta\)-CD, and Ho-\(\beta\)-CD.
