Abstract

The thermal and mechanical resilience of graphene is critical for many possible uses in nanotechnology. It’s band structure can be changed by applying strains larger than 15%.  Using the equation of state (EOS) based on thermodynamic variables, we determine the temperature dependence of the volume thermal expansion, bulk modulus, and thermal expansion coefficient of graphene. The thermal expansion and thermal expansion coefficient of graphene are calculated using a simple and uncomplicated theoretical method. The model used in this study has only two input parameters and is not affected by potential.
