Feline scabies or Notoedric mange is caused by a tiny sarcoptiformis mite Notoedris cati. Clinically the cat reveales hair loss and severe itching of skin. The lesion was seen in ear, face, eyelid and neck. Feet and lower abdomen was also seen to be affected to a lesser extent. Grossly the affected areas were thickened, wrinkled and covered with grayish/yellow crusts. Morphologically the mite is similar to Sarcoptes scabies except the dorsally placed anus. Transmission is through close contact. Skin scraping examination from the affected areas is the preferred way of diagnosis. It can be treated successfully with ivermectin at the dose of 300 mcg/kg body weight sub - cutaneously at 4 days apart for 5 occasion; The condition should be differentiated fron Otodectic mange, Food allergy dermatitis and Pemphigus complex.
