Abstract
Background: Each surgical treatment has its own difficulties, restrictions, and likelihood of success. We did a systematic analysis comparing several surgical techniques for THA in terms of their clinical and functional outcomes in order to better understand the benefits and potential drawbacks associated with each approach. Whatever strategy is employed for THA, the primary goals of the surgery would be pain reduction and improved quality of life for patients suffering from hip diseases.
Methodology: The review covered all published literature in English language on surgical methods used in THA from 2015 onward. The databases searched were COCHRANE, MEDLINE, PEDRO, CINHAL, etc.
Results: Out of 50 studies, 26 have been included in the study that underwent critical analysis based on the inclusion criteria.
Conclusion: Considering all of the factors discussed in the investigation, the posterior or posterolateral approach is the most advantageous.
- Anterolateral approach
- posterolateral approach
- lateral approach
- total hip replacement
