Abstract

Attached gingiva is the part of gingiva which plays a significant role in maintaining periodontal health. The inadequate width of attached gingiva favors plaque accumulation and increased inflammation contributing to periodontal destruction. This chapter explains in detail the definition, clinical significance, various techniques to increase the attached gingiva, description of each technique and significance of keratinized mucosa around implants.
