Prof. Syed A. A. Rizvi

He is presently appointed as a professor of Pharmaceutical & Biomedical Sciences, and a broadly trained scientist, educator, and healthcare contributor with vast Clinical and Translational Research experience, driving innovation within pharmaceutical product development platforms. He is highly motivated and committed to advancing medical innovation and education, discovering new therapies, improving patient outcomes, and playing an instrumental role in scientific and business strategies. He is equipped with extensive training and academic background, and over 25 years of experience in industrial, academic, administration, and healthcare settings. He has published over 220 peer-reviewed articles, including journal publications, book chapters, books, US patents, and oral/poster presentations. His publications include highly rated articles, and cover articles. He also serves on the Editorial Boards/Panels of different journals (in various capacities) and reviews manuscripts and books for over 200 well- known scientific publications (journals and books). He enjoys teaching, cooking and practicing martial arts (Hakko-Ryu Jujutsu and Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate). His research interests incorporate clinical and translational research including clinical trials, graduate medical education (GME) pharmaceutical formulations (direct compressed tablets, topicals and liquids); ionic liquid formation and cocrystallization of the pharmaceutical compounds; nano and micro-encapsulation of the drugs for targeting and controlled release; nanotechnology; biotechnology; task specific formulation development; multistep synthesis of small organic molecules; bioavailability enhancement; pharmaceutical analysis (forensics and method development); design and synthesis of novel monomeric and polymeric surfactants for separation of chiral and achiral compounds in micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC); method development and validation for separations of achiral and chiral compounds utilizing MEKC-UV/MS and HPLC-UV-MS; application of cryogenic high resolution scanning electron microscopy (Cryo-HRSEM) and analytical ultracentrifuge for characterization of polymeric surfactants; surfactant and colloidal chemistry; chemical transformation of pharmacologically active compounds using microbial whole cultures; isolation and pharmacology of compounds from fungal metabolites and medicinal plants; fragrance and aroma chemistry; skin allergy testing and immunotherapy; digital Tool development for healthcare assessment; executive leadership; team building; marketing and management; and peer-reviewed high impact publications.
