Abstract

In the present study, a series of novel substituted 1,3,4-pyrazole derivatives were synthesized by the reaction of substituted acetophenones are condensed with hydrazides to the corresponding hydrazones. the development of novel derivatives of pyrazoles and evaluation of their bioactivities have found a special place in the drug discovery applications. All newly synthesized compounds were characterized on the basis of IR, 1H NMR and Mass spectral data and screened for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Among them, compounds 4c and 4e exhibited significant antioxidant activity in all the four methods comparable with standard ascorbic acid. Compounds 4d and 4e showed significant anti inflammatory activity comparable with standard drug diclofenac sodium using carrageenan-induced rat hind paw edema method.
