He is an esteemed Associate Professor and Senior Fellow, holds a prominent position at the Institute of Pathology, Laboratory, and Forensic Medicine (I-PPerForM), a center of excellence. Additionally, he serves as an Associate Professor specializing in Medical Microbiology at the Faculty of Medicine, UiTM, Malaysia. With an illustrious career spanning over two decades, Dr. Jamal has made remarkable contributions to academia and research.

His prolific academic output includes the publication of more than 120 articles in esteemed national and international indexed journals, along with the authorship of two research books and four chapters in various scholarly works. Dr. Jamal's expertise has been recognized through the acquisition of over 20 research grants, where he has played pivotal roles as a principal investigator in numerous national and international projects.

His research interests encompass molecular bacteriology, immunology, and tick-borne pathogens, areas in which he has demonstrated exceptional proficiency. He has supervised a multitude of projects undertaken by PhD, master's, diploma, and undergraduate students, nurturing the next generation of scholars.
