Shock is characterized by systemic hypoperfusion of tissues; it can be caused by diminished cardiac output or reduced effective circulating blood volume. Effective management of distributive shock involves targeted interventions to address the underlying pathophysiology, restore adequate tissue perfusion, and support organ function. Early recognition, prompt initiation of appropriate therapies (such as antibiotics in septic shock, epinephrine in anaphylactic shock, and vasopressors in neurogenic shock), and meticulous supportive care are critical for improving outcomes in patients experiencing distributive shock. This study reviews the existing literature and provides a comprehensive guide to diagnosis and treatment for shock.
