Abstract

In today's competitive landscape, organizations are constantly seeking ways to enhance the maturity of their business processes to improve profitability and remain competitive. One effective approach is the alignment of service-oriented architecture (SOA) with an organization's business processes. This chapter presents a conceptual framework designed to achieve this alignment. The framework is tailored to help organizations, particularly in the education sector, integrate multiple Web and SOA-based applications, facilitating seamless data flow across systems. By translating business processes into services, the framework enables organizations to adapt their processes swiftly in response to evolving business needs, thereby enhancing system integration and data flow efficiency. The validity of the proposed framework is demonstrated through a proof of concept (PoC) using Yet Another Workflow Language (YAWL), showcasing its practical applicability.
