Abstract

Apigenin has recently attracted attention as a nutritional flavonoids as well as a health promoting agent because of its low intrinsic toxicity and potent antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, neuroprotective, and anti cancer activity. Apigenin is reported to be useful in combination therapies with various chemotherapy drugs, along with its role as a chemosensitizer on chemotherapy drugs. Apigenin as a drug has been proven to be effective for various pharmacological purposes based on the literature to date, although there are currently insufficient credible scientific studies and regulatory authority certifications. In the future, extensive research and clinical trials will prove apigenin's capacity as a magnificent therapeutic agent.
