Abstract

Light emitting diodes (LEDS) have revolutionized various industries with their energy efficiency, longevity, and versatility. This book explores the transformative impact of light emitting diodes (LEDS) in dentistry, encompassing their versatile applications ranging from curing lights, intraoral imaging, surgical lighting, photobiomodulation, to teeth whitening. LEDS have significantly improved diagnostics, treatment precision, and patient experiences through enhanced imaging, efficient curing of dental restorations, optimal surgical visibility, and therapeutic applications for wound healing and pain management. Their eco-friendly and cost-effective nature aligns with modern dental practice while presenting avenues for future advancements, necessitating continued research to address standardization, light intensity control, and potential long-term effects. LEDS illuminate a promising future for dentistry, enhancing both practitioner efficiency and patient outcomes.
