Dr. Ana Cláudia Correia Coelho

She is currently an Associate Professor with Habillitation in the Department of Veterinary Sciences at UTAD, where she teaches the Curricular Units for Infectious Diseases, Public Health and Epidemiology. She has completed her PhD in Veterinary Sciences, from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) in 2006 and master in Health Promotion and Health Education at UTAD in 2001, the degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1997 at UTAD. She participated as a researcher in 11 projects. She has 107 publications referenced in ISI or Scopus. She has 21 book chapters; 300 abstracts at national and international meetings. She supervised 6 doctoral theses and 104 master's dissertations. She currently supervises 3 doctoral theses. She supervised or co-supervised 60 works concluding a bachelor's / bachelor's course. She received 7 award (s) and / or honors. The main fields of interest in the research are related to emerging and reemerging zoonoses in the One Health approach, mycology, mycobacteriology, infection control and biosafety. Between 2014 and 2013 she was President of the Biosafety Nucleus of the Integrated Master in Veterinary Medicine, UTAD. Between October 2017 and April 2020, she was the Chairman of the UTAD Biosafety Commission. She is a De Facto Diplomated by the European College of Veterinary Microbiology. Since 2021, she is a member of the UTAD Ethics Committee and Vice-President of the Scientific Council of the School of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences.
