Abstract

Achieving desirable buildings of sustainable qualities requires that the professionals involved in the physical planning and development, building design and planning, building construction executors and maintenance experts acquire the basic knowledge of an interplay between the built environment and the prevailing climate. Thus, this book is engendered to address the prevailing climatic factors that affect the built environment in the tropical region as precursor to guide the building professionals in the built environment. It forms part of the basic required knowledge for the training of undergraduate students in the field of built environment and as a guiding tool for the building professional practice.
