Abstract

It is essential to focus on the Laboratory course since practicals on the theoretical concepts enable learners to realize the knowledge and facilitate achievements of learning at a higher cognitive level. Further assessment methods aligned with instructions enable us to reach intended learning outcomes and hence successful implementation. The traditional pedagogy practice is ineffective in engaging the learners and facilitating higher learning. Especially, the demonstration, conduction, investigation, interpretation, result analysis, using research-based knowledge, modern tools usage, team works, communication, and ethics. This chapter illustrates a design of the Laboratory course with a proper structure that targets some attributes of the POs at higher levels. The chapter contributes a typical course file of the Computer Networks Laboratory that addresses the above attributes in different sections. Further, the format provided can be referred to as a manual or guide for developing the other laboratory courses, and improvisation is encouraged with proper justification.
