Abstract

An ongoing controversy in dentistry is whether root canal treatment and restoration can compete for long-term success with prosthetic crowns supported by an implant.

Many short-term studies have reported favorable data supporting the success of dental implants , but the lack of standardized evaluations makes it difficult to compare these studies objectively, On the other hand, the development of modern endodontic techniques for conventional treatment and subsequent re-treatment has allowed the maintenance of a number of teeth that in the past would have been extracted. So each method has its own advantage and disadvantages and with different outcome which will be clarified in this chapter
