Abstract

The work presents a mathematical model of a thermogravimetric curve for the growth and simultaneous sublimation of scale on a metal surface, and it addresses the situation in which the process of gas etching the monocrystal surface occurs prior to the growth-sublimation of scale. When a nitride layer is created on a germanium sample in a medium of hydrazine vapours, the equations that were obtained are employed to explain the kinetic curve of the mass change of the sample.
