Abstract
The need of effective miniature energy storage devices like micro capacitors with high capacitive density increase day by day in many application sectors such as defense, aviation, industry etc. and hence are in active research in recent years. Capacitive density of microcapacitors can be modulated with nanostructured materials via the Coulomb Blockade Effect (CBE). In the last decade, the dielectric properties like dielectric constant (k) and dielectric loss (D) of multifarious nanostructured materials have been investigated for application as dielectric material in embedded capacitors. In the present work, fabrication process of the thin film capacitors with Ag/PVA nanocomposites as dielectric layer and their dielectric behaviors are investigated. The variation of capacitive properties of the fabricated capacitor with concentration in Ag/PVA nanocomposite is also investigated. The performance analysis of the thin film capacitors with Ag/PVA nanocomposite, bulk Ag/PVA composite and only PVA matrix as dielectric layer is reported in this investigation. The findings regarding the effect of degree of coating on the capacitive properties of the capacitors is an important ingredient of this investigation.
