Abstract

Incidence of scar pregnancy is reported as 1 in 2,000 pregnancies. The incidence of arteriovenous malformation [AVM] with scar pregnancy is rarer. These cases may impose life threatening complications for the patients if they are not diagnosed early. AVM with scar pregnancy is usually misdiagnosed and may present as a diagnostic dilemma for the treating physician. It usually causes delays in the management of these cases. The cases with miscarriage with scar pregnancy and AVM are even more challenging to diagnose. A case of acquired arteriovenous malformation with scar pregnancy in a patient who had a previous Caesarean for placenta previa is presented. This case is unique in that she introduced with massive vaginal bleeding four months after her diagnosis, despite a negative pregnancy test.
