Abstract

Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia Linn.) is one of the widely used herbs for therapeutic purpose. Various dosage forms of Guduchi are found to be used viz. Kwath (Decoction), Ghana (Concentrated decoction), Choorna (Powder), etc. Satva (Active part) is the dosage form of Guduchi that is also effective in lower doses. However, various practical difficulties are encountered when preparing Guduchi satva using the traditional method described in classical texts. In the current study, a modern instrument called the Multi mill was used to prepare Guduchi satva. It has proven to be both beneficial and cost-effective. The use of the Multi mill has been found to be hygienic, and the yield of Satva has been found to be higher when compared to the conventional method. Thus, present study aims to introduce a new instrument in the manufacturing of Guduchi satva.
