Abstract

Introduction: Antibiograms (Overall profile of antimicrobial susceptibility) helps to guide the clinician and pharmacist in selecting the best empiric antimicrobial treatment and in detecting and monitoring trends in antimicrobial resistance.

Aim and Objective: To retrospectively observe the the antibiogram profile in nonCOVID and COVID patients.

Materials And Methods: Restrospective observational study on 200 patients, 100 COVID and 100 non COVID patients after written consent and ethical committee approval were observed for demography,culture reports,antimicrobial susceptibility and their antibiogram were observed.

Results: Incidence of COVID was more in male patients than female  with mean age 66,mean  Hemoglobin 12g% and comparatively more mean platelets and WBCs. Culture results, Antimicrobial susceptibility and Antibiotics used were similar between COVID and NON COVID.

Conclusion: We conclude that there is no difference of antibiotic susceptibility percentage on the antibiogram and usage of antibiotics between the COVID patients and NON-COVID patients.
