Abstract

Patients and dentists show a higher degree of interest when single tooth replacement with implants is being considered as a treatment option. In most cases, esthetic replacement of a single maxillary anterior tooth with an implant-supported restoration is a difficult task. Although osseointegration has become predictable, the soft tissue drape, which is responsible for overall esthetics, requires gentle handling at all stages of implant treatment. This article discusses the factors that contribute to the best esthetic results and includes a case study that demonstrates several strategies for improving the esthetic outcome of an implant-supported maxillary anterior single tooth at various phases of treatment.
