The study of cell to cell communication is very important to understand the mechanism for receiving and forwarding signals from one cell to another to perform important metabolic functions. This communication has another important role in receiving and sending signals from one cell to another to co-ordinate growth, differentiation and development. The main function of communication is done in plants through plasmodesmata. The mechanism of Plasmodesmal communication has been discussed. One of the important carrier for sending signals in cell-cell communication in plant is the RNA-binding proteins. The role of RNA-binding proteins in the process of Molecular trafficking such as carrying of proteins and other important molecules in growth, development as well as in showing responses to pathogen, biotic and abiotic stresses.
