This is the first edition of the book which is brought to our esteemed readers. The book has clearly elaborated the life cycle of the parasite Spirometra. This is a zoonotic parasite. It is a Pseudophylidean tapeworm. Spirometra parasitizes invertebrates and vertebrate hosts.

Much information on the biology of Spirometra may also be found in general textbooks of parasitology and published papers. However, there is no single authoritative source that brings together a wide range of Spirometra biology. Therefore, this work is an attempt to fill this gap in the parasitological literature. I am aware that certain areas have received only brief treatment. The areas in the life cycle which have been covered by an individual is an expert in the field. However, I feel that the presentation of a variety of ideas in this work will stimulate research.
