In this book, the recent advances on functional neurosurgery surgical techniques are reported. We describe our approach for treating different diseases. The application and integration of neuro-monitoring techniques in brain tumors surgery, the surgical technique to perform the frameless deep brain stimulation, the epilepsy surgery principles, indications and surgical techniques, the neuronavigated microvascular decompression for the treatment of neurovascular conflicts, the percutaneous balloon compression for the treatment of drug-resistant trigeminal neuralgia and the techniques for spinal cord stimulation and intrathecal pump implant are illustrated. We report the main indications for each surgical procedure and we focus on the technical aspects of different surgical techniques providing an easy guide to approach different pathologies of the spectrum of functional neurosurgery.
