Abstract

This chapter presents an overview of the perspectives of telemedicine, reflecting the present state of the field. It concludes with a projection of the status of telemedicine in the future. Advanced technologies with quality network services enable individuals to improve healthcare delivery and make it available to more and more people. Telemedicine is a more beneficial technology that can make it easier for people to get preventive treatment and help their long-term health. Technology is a critical component of telemedicine. Standard telemedicine systems need three basic components; an interface for patients, an interface for professional caregivers, and a network for connection.
