Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP) has being implemented all over India since 1993. It has been noticed a high sputum positivity in follow up smear examination indicating an additional treatment support for early conversion and cure. We are studying there effect of a commercially available immunomodulator along with standard and ATT of DOTS . We studied its effect on 21 smear positive case with 21 as control. TB patients showed a better sputum conversion rate when treated with the Ayurvedic Immunomodulator, along with DOTS. There was a beneficial effect on weight gain and ESR improvement. More studies one this issue with large number of cases are advised.
