Obturation materials play a pivotal role in the success of endodontic treatment for primary teeth. Primary teeth, though ephemeral, serve critical functions in mastication, speech development, and maintaining space for permanent successors. Consequently, preserving their integrity through effective endodontic procedures is of paramount importance. This comprehensive review aims to evaluate and analyze the wide range of obturation materials available for primary teeth, including traditional options like zinc oxide-eugenol cement and calcium hydroxide-based pastes, as well as newer alternatives like bioceramics, for their clinical efficacy, biocompatibility, and long-term outcomes thus offering insights into their strengths, weaknesses, and suitability for different clinical scenarios. Such knowledge is crucial for clinicians in making informed decisions regarding the selection of obturation materials, ensuring the best possible outcomes in pediatric endodontic treatment.
