Abstract

Sustainable Development is a notion of development with very less destruction to the society, environmental ecosystem, and other far-away factors which may occur caused by so-called “development”. Consideration of sustainable development in Indian construction industry majorly focuses on energy efficiency, reducing CO2 emission, less focuses on economic aspect and social consideration of sustainability in majorly neglected as per literature studies. Whereas, Energy-efficient buildings are much more expensive when compared to conventional buildings, as this shows the globally shared experience that a building that is already expensive will become more expensive with energy-saving fixtures in the market. This issue of affordability of housing has rapidly increased in India, which partly shows housing supply fails to satisfy housing demand. The research subject justifies that dispense related issues can be addressed with behavioural adoption reconciliations. Therefore, understanding factors affecting sustainable housing enables a broader simplification of problems.
